Squirro Data Connectors

Squirro Data Connectors

Squirro aims to help you leverage all your data in the most effective way possible. For this reason, we have built an extensive set of connectors to allow you to bring your data together, search through it with our AI powered cognitive search, and gain insights thanks to our analytical capabilities.

We offer two categories of connectors: Regular and 1-click connectors.

Regular connectors have been pre-built to connect to a data source but require configuration.

1-click connectors allow you to connect through an industry-standard OAuth2 setup, thereby allowing Squirro to index data without ever storing your confidential credentials for the source system.

Each category below outlines the different groups of connectors and explains why each one is so valuable to certain customers. The connectors in bold and orange are 1-click connectors.

If you don’t find the relevant connector listed, please contact us, our partners and we can build with our Python SDK and Rest API new connectors with a fast turnaround time.

This group holds a multitude of data. The CRM systems hold contact information, call notes, and recent client interaction and activity across the team. ERP systems contain information about supply chains, contracts, and a variety of other customer-related data, and industry-specific core systems contain data relating to that sector.

By connecting these systems to Squirro, users are able to benefit from AI-powered cognitive search across all data, gain insights, and receive data-driven recommendations with the Squirro Insights Cockpit. Furthermore, Squirro dashboards can be directly embedded into each system using our frontend SDK.

Detect new opportunities, develop an intimate understanding of customers, partners, and markets, spot trends, and back your sales team with the next best actions. Squirro delivers these insights in real-time, automatically, in pre-trained enterprise-ready applications.

Service Management

CRM Systems
(Customer Relationship Management)

  • ServiceNow
  • BMC Remedy
  • Salesforce Service Cloud
  • Atlassian JIRA
  • Freshservice
  • Zendesk
  • Samanage
  • Other web-based ITSM or Service Management Systems

Service Management is invaluable in helping manufacturers with equipment to identify issues ahead of time and reduce the time taken to resolve those issues. Customer Support works in a similar way for more general companies, resolving issues faster, and even preventing them from happening again.

Squirro’s Service Insights solution collects and analyses data across multiple sources such as service desks and configuration databases to provide a real-time view of what really happened. It uses data to identify trends and anomalies, automate service ticket clustering, recommend solutions (based both on context and previous issues) and predict potential issues.

It seamlessly integrates enterprise applications such as ITSM, Service Management, and CRM suites to reduce the time it takes to identify and resolve issues. Organizations only know about service issues when they occur. The longer it takes to get them resolved the higher the impact on unmet SLA obligations and increased churn rates. Squirro Service Insights provides all the insight required for any organization to significantly improve its service levels. The result is up to 30% reduction in the meantime to resolution and up to 15% reduction in support costs.

  • Other industry-specific data sources

Premium data sources are widely used in Financial Services (FS), but many other sectors have similar services that deliver insight and information on that industry. By plugging premium data sources into Squirro, the user immediately gets the benefit of that information.

The insight – taken from the mostly unstructured data - is used to drive lead generation and deliver a greater customer experience and is even valuable when in the context of other data plugged into Squirro.

Social Media

  • Twitter
  • YouTube
  • Reddit
  • Blog Search
  • Stack Overflow

Social media carries a lot of value, so it is very important for a company or brand looking at marketing when it is important to understand what customers are thinking and why.

It is also useful for capturing breaking news that might not be picked up by a mainstream news outlet. If a disgruntled employee posted a negative comment on Twitter, then that company would know about that immediately.

Data Warehousing

  • Hadoop
  • ElasticSearch
  • Snowflake
  • SumoLogic
  • Cloudera
  • Hortonworks Huddle

Data Warehouses – also sometimes referred to as Data Lakes – contain masses of data from a variety of sources across an enterprise. Extracting insight from these is notoriously challenging but plugging them into Squirro makes it easily achievable.

Squirro adds structure to the unstructured data found in a Data Warehouse or Data Lake, making them much more useful for informing the decision-making.

Enterprise Systems

  • Microsoft Exchange
  • Microsoft Office / OneDrive
  • Microsoft SharePoint
  • Atlassian Confluence
  • Gmail
  • Google Drive
  • Dropbox
  • iManage FileSite
  • Amazon S3
  • Apache Spark
  • Apache Hive
  • Atlassian Confluence
  • Atlassian JIRA
  • Cloudera

  • Lotus Notes
  • Relational databases
    • Microsoft SQL Server
    • MySQL
    • Oracle
    • PostgreSQL
    • SQLite
    • Sybase
    • Firebird
  • Symphony
  • Github

Social media carries a lot of value, so it is very important for a company or brand looking at marketing when it is important to understand what customers are thinking and why.

Business Intelligence

  • Power BI
  • Qlik
  • Tableau

In Business Intelligence systems, data is already processed, but in most cases, this data is structured. By combining and co-mingling this with unstructured data – via a Squirro connector – the data footprint is expanded significantly.

Users can then benefit from a deeper insight, focusing on risk mitigation, lead generation, or delivering a better customer experience.

Customizations

  • Python SDK
  • Data Loader Plugin
  • REST API

Each organization will have situations that are specific to it and which generate specific data sets. Customizations allow an organization to build its very own connectors to suit those specific needs. We have often built client-specific data connectors that can consume data from the in-house data services sitting on top of the client’s data lake.

By plugging these into Squirro users benefit from the wider context of seeing their specific data co-mingled with other data sets, allowing for more informed decision making as a result of seeing the bigger picture.

Internal Communication

  • Slack
  • MS Teams
  • Huddle
  • Mattermost
  • Beekeeper

The rise in the use of these communication platforms over the past few years has meant that there are large volumes of unstructured data found within them. This can be very insightful, from a quick aside about a customer interaction deemed unimportant for the CRM, to internal thoughts on a new product or service.

Plugging Internal Communication into Squirro allows for the analysis of this data, providing great insight that would otherwise have gone unnoticed and not used.

Marketing

  • Marketo
  • Google Ads
  • Hubspot
  • Eloqua
  • Pardot
  • Global Data
  • DiscoverOrg/ZoomInfo

Marketing automation systems hold lots of data that can deliver great insight into customers. The data held includes email responses, customer interactions, and other cross channel interactivity.

Connecting to Squirro allows users to see how those customers interact, what is important to them, how markets are behaving currently, and the type of content that customers are engaging with. This can all be used to inform marketing strategy moving forward.

File Imports

  • CSV and Excel import
  • File importer, supporting the following file formats:
    • Portable Document Format (PDF)
    • Microsoft Office document formats (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • HyperText Markup Language
    • XML and derived formats
    • OpenDocument Format
    • Electronic Publication Format
    • Rich Text Format
    • Compression and packaging formats
    • Text formats
    • Feed and Syndication formats
    • Audio formats
    • Image formats
    • Video formats
    • Java class files and archives
    • The mbox format
    • CAD formats
    • Font formats
    • Executable programs and libraries
    • Email Files (Outlook PST, MSG)

File Imports – which include the entire Microsoft Office suite as well as PDF documents – contain large volumes of unstructured data, which ordinarily can be very hard to access, manage, and search.

Squirro connectors mean that users can extract all the required insight from these sources, insight that can be used to better understand customers and deliver a better experience to them.
