Zurich, Switzerland – July 6, 2026 – Squirro, an enterprise AI platform serving regulated industries across financial services, manufacturing and the public sector, has been named to the KMWorld AI100 for the fourth year straight, a recognition that identifies vendors advancing their knowledge management offerings through AI and related technologies.

"This year's KMWorld AI100 list demonstrates AI's growing footprint across KM platforms and services," said Marydee Ojala, Editor-in-Chief, KMWorld magazine. "AI moved extraordinarily quickly from being a curiosity to becoming embedded in KM products and now offers real-world applications. We are excited to track the accomplishments of these companies and applaud the benefits they bring to KM."

New Leadership, Continued Momentum

The listing coincides with a period of change at Squirro. David Clarke, well known in the KMWorld community as co-founder of Synaptica, was appointed Chief Executive Officer earlier this year, following the acquisition of Synaptica by Squirro in 2024. Clarke brings over 30 years of experience in the information industry, with a focus on knowledge graphs and enterprise AI deployments. Dr. Dorian Selz, Squirro's co-founder and former CEO, moved to Executive Deputy Chairman.

"Synaptica's work has always been about transforming human-readable knowledge into machine-readable knowledge," said Clarke. "That work has come of age. AI agents can't operate on probabilistic reasoning alone. They need the structured knowledge that enterprises have spent years building. At Squirro, we connect those two things."

Solving Enterprise AI's Two Recurring Problems

The merger of Squirro and Synaptica was built around two related problems that most enterprise AI deployments run into sooner or later.

The first is accuracy. Probabilistic AI is not sufficient in mission-critical business contexts. When "probably the right answer" carries operational or regulatory consequences, enterprises need a deterministic layer, one that grounds AI outputs in verified, traceable information.

The second is scale. Unstructured enterprise data grows at roughly 50% per year, while classification teams do not. When manual tagging falls behind, every downstream system that depends on classified content, including enterprise search, compliance frameworks and GenAI applications, inherits that same gap.

The platform addresses both through three integrated capabilities:

  • Synaptica Graphite, a no-code taxonomy and ontology management system, allows organizations to design and maintain enterprise knowledge graphs, structured representations of institutional knowledge that AI agents can reason against accurately and consistently.
  • The Squirro Classifier automates document classification against an organization's existing taxonomy, increasing the speed and accuracy of content tagging and improving the performance of every downstream workflow that depends on it, including enterprise search, compliance monitoring and agentic AI applications.
  • Knowledge Graphs structure workflow automation by mapping process flows, creating a deterministic structure that ensures agents execute complex tasks consistently.

Squirro will be present at KMWorld 2026 in Washington, DC this November. Those interested in meeting the team are welcome to get in touch at squirro.com.
