Every public television station has a daily news broadcast. It is nearly always the flagship program of each station. Really important then the segment opener. And really interesting how these openers developed over time. Back then it was a simple clock counting the seconds to start. Later they became more sophisticated including a lot of digital trickery lately. Here’s a great overview of SF DRS – Switzerland’s public broadcaster (German speaking part of Switzerland) – openers from the 50ties to today.
