Salesforce, Einstein and Squirro – the perfect AI combination

Last year, I was invited to Zurich to speak at Squirro’s SIGHTS ’17 conference, an event that aimed to help Squirro’s customers drive organisational decisions from complex data environments. Key to doing this is artificial intelligence (AI), a technology at the heart of everything Salesforce is achieving and developing with Einstein.

Einstein is AI capability embedded within the Salesforce platform that helps users discover insights, predict future behaviors and be more productive. With Einstein business users are empowered to truly focus on their customers.

Salesforce – 100% focused on AI

Everyone in technology and business is familiar with the concept of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, but for me the most interesting elements of it are those that we are just getting into, the Internet of Things (IoT) and AI. AI is set to be the dominant technology of the next decade, a position reflected by the emphasis we have put on AI at Salesforce.

We have always had an extreme focus on helping our customers understand their customers better. We believe one of the most effective ways of doing this now is via AI. This allows customers to address a whole host of challenges, such as learning from the data coming into the organisation, improving sales engagement, being proactive in customer service problem solving, and becoming more predictive in addressing issues before they become a problem.

Not only has Einstein AI recently celebrated its first birthday and continues to go from strength to strength, but on the back of that anniversary, Salesforce Ventures announced a new $50 million fund to encourage startups to build AI-fueled applications on top of Salesforce.

Squirro and the value of unstructured data

In terms of the specific value that Squirro can bring to Einstein, the greatest contribution lies in Squirro’s ability to manage unstructured data.

We currently live in a structured data world. But the volume of, and insight to be had from unstructured data is vast, which is where Squirro really comes into its own. Not only can it work with unstructured data such as social media posts, sales call transcripts and much more, but furthermore it can cross siloes within an enterprise.

Squirro is a truly innovative company with a great team driving it. The combination of Squirro and Einstein AI is a powerful proposition indeed.
